Winvian Farm Wedding: Kelly and Mike’s Idyllic Day

Last weekend, our string trio performed for Kelly and Mike’s stunning Winvian Farm wedding. Nestled in the heart of Connecticut, The Winvian is the kind of venue that feels straight out of a dream—a perfect mix of rustic charm and modern elegance. Working with Kelly and Mike was just lovely from start to finish, especially given how much care and thought they put into every detail of their big day.

The Setting: A Winvian Farm Wedding

Winvian Farm is the epitome of Connecticut charm, tucked away in the Litchfield Hills. This isn’t just any Connecticut wedding venue—it’s a destination known for its stunning cottages, world-class cuisine, and even its very own helicopter pad, perfect for those grand entrances. With its secluded setting and top-tier amenities, Winvian Farm has become a favorite retreat for those seeking both privacy and elegance. Whether you arrive by car or chopper, this venue promises an unforgettable experience from the moment you set foot on its grounds.

The ceremony site at Winvian Farm is so peaceful and idyllic. It was the ideal backdrop for Kelly and Mike’s wedding, which was filled with personal touches and original elements that truly made the day their own.

Leading up to the big day

We had several meetings with Kelly of Rose Hill Events, the incredible planner behind the day, and DJ June from June Events to ensure that every musical moment was flawlessly timed and projected perfectly across the ceremony field. Coordination was key, and working seamlessly with such a talented team made all the difference. I highly recommend these two talented pros!

Custom Arrangements for a Unique Ceremony

Kelly and Mike’s wedding music was anything but ordinary. I asked our arranger to create custom string trio arrangements of their favorite songs and they came out beautifully. Looking for inspiration for your ceremony? Here’s what our couple chose:

Prelude Music (What’s Prelude?)

Elvis Presley "Can't Help Falling In Love

The Beatles "Here Comes the Sun"

Aerosmith "I Don't Wanna Miss a thing"

The Beatles "Yesterday"

from Disney’s Aladdin "A Whole New World"

A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman

Family Processional

Yesterday, then Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles

Bridal Processional

The Only Exception by Paramore

Recessional

Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

Laughter, Love, and a Ceremony to Remember

I love when friends of the couple officiate a wedding and this JP was a gem!

The groom requested that she say something unique—something that couldn’t be found in any other wedding ceremony. So, she began with, “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Kelly and Mike.” She immediately put everyone at ease and setting the tone for a warm, heartfelt ceremony. The personal vows that followed were so touching, reflecting the deep love and connection between our bride and groom.

From Ceremony to Celebration

After the ceremony, we got the party started with cocktail hour. Our amplified string trio played a lively set list 80s pop hits and 2000s Top 100. As always, we made sure to play all of Kelly’s favorite requests toward the end of the hour when she was nearby, making sure she got to enjoy every moment. She requested:

Signed, Sealed Delivered - Stevie Wonder

Wouldn't It Be Nice - The Beach Boys

Wildest Dreams - Taylor Swift

Somebody to Love - Queen

Beauty and the Beast - Disney

The day was a true testament to what happens when love, laughter, and meticulous planning come together. Kelly and Mike, it was an honor to be part of your special day, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to provide the soundtrack to such a memorable moment in your lives. Thank you for having us!
